Contraception 'the pill' & other options

I would like to start/discuss contraception
Oral Contraceptive “Pill Check”
Request a coil fitting, replacement or removal
Request an implant fitting, replacement or removal

Choosing the right contraception is very important and different methods will suit different people.

If you would like the start a new method of contraception then please look through the NHS UK website which contains lots of information about the different options.

Starting or changing contraception

Should you wish to start or change to a pill, the injection, a patch or the vaginal ring or have further questions then please contact the practice and ask to speak with a GP.

Renewing prescriptions

We regularly review prescriptions to ensure medications are being prescribed safely.

The combined pill, progesterone only pill, contraceptive patch and vaginal ring all require a yearly review.

As part of this we need to ensure we have an up to date medical history, family history, blood pressure check and height and weight.

Coils and implants

Long-acting contraception can provide a safe and effective method of contraception.
